baggage claim blessings

Suitcases rolled around the baggage claim, my nerves increased with each passing one

By a miracle, I’d made it to Tennessee. That alone should have relieved all my worries and fears.

But my bag.

Where was my bag?

And I still had to get to the hotel, which was half an hour away.

“God, I know I’ve asked a lot of you so far… but could help me get to my hotel smoothly? I’m nervous being here alone.”

The stranger next to me pulled her big, pink suitcase off the carousel. We exchanged smiles and pleasantries before she hauled her suitcase away.

I was still waiting. My bag making a late appearance.

Finally.

I walked outside to see her standing next to her pink suitcase. Alone.

“This is going to sound weird…but are you going to the writing conference?”

My heart leapt.

“I am! You want to share an Uber?”

“Yes, I was about to ask you the same thing!”

Two strangers. Who live two hours away from each another. Who both love the Lord. Who both love to write. Who are both SAHMs with two little girls. Who ended up being assigned at the same writing table.

If you’ve ever wondered whether God hears prayers or cares about the small things…I can assure you, he most certainly does.
