Reason #484
There is no possible way anyone could have had a more perfect wedding day than I did. It's impossible. My day was perfect. And there has never been a bride who has felt more loved than I did yesterday. Never. It was a perfect day from the moment I opened my eyes until I finally shut them, and I couldn't have possibly asked for more.
I woke up to rain yesterday. I knew it. I just knew it would rain on our wedding day. And it poured down for a few hours. My mom assured me that it would stop in time for the wedding, and Aaron texted me to say, "looks as if we're going to have enough luck to last us a lifetime." And so God answered the prayers of many people yesterday as he brought rain to our dry, parched land and gave us a bit of relief from the drought. God is good.
My mom escorted my sister-in-law and me into the hair salon with an umbrella as puddles were turning into streams. An hour and half later, we walked out to find that the rain had stopped and not a moment too soon. For our gracious Lord knew exactly how long to let it rain and He moved the storm on to different land. God is good.
We arrived to take pictures in the sun and cool air and I anxiously waited to see Aaron's face. With my mom and my bridesmaids crammed into a tiny room, we counted down the minutes. Before I knew it, my dad was knocking on the door to come get me and walk me down the aisle. The door opened and I saw Aaron's face for the first time that day. I'll never forget it for as long as I live. My nerves subsided and I praised the Lord that it was finally here. It seemed as if it was mere seconds before we were pronounced husband and wife. Music to my ears, and I couldn't be more proud to be Mrs. Aaron Davis. God is good.
The night was beautiful, the air was crisp, and we celebrated God's miracles with our dearest friends and family. I marveled at God's love for me. Because as much as I had been planning out our wedding day, so had God. He blessed us with the most beautiful, most perfect day ever. Showered us with blessings from beginning to end, and my heart could have burst from overwhelming joy. God is good.
Today, I woke up as Mrs. Davis. A beautiful day, too. Perfect weather for the start of our honeymoon. A week away with the one my heart loves, enjoying the beauty of God's handiwork, and I couldn't be more excited. Our bags are packed, the car is prepped, and we're about to head out. We took a moment to praise God for day #1 as Mr. & Mrs., for giving us a perfect start to a long life together, for blessing our socks off yesterday, and for being so good.
And so this is it for a week. For the first time in 484 days, I am taking a break. Taking time to enjoy my husband, to enjoy God's blessings, and to rest. Taking time to reflect, to praise Him, and to soak up some sun.
But I'll be back, and you know I'll have a lot to share. Until then...
#484 - Because we are now Mr. & Mrs. Davis! God is good!
