Reason #753

You may think He doesn't care. He doesn't even notice you, you're pretty sure of it. Not even a blip on His radar. And although you know He's there, you wonder if He's even aware of your presence. You are pretty sure He could care less. In fact, you're probably the last one on earth He'd give His attention to. You want it, you need it, but you feel overlooked. Passed up because better things offer themselves and you can't compete.

Maybe you think He doesn't care because you've gone too far. You've messed up big time, the things you said, the things you did. Why would He care about you? Honestly, you don't really care for yourself right now. Maybe it is better to lay low. Maybe it is better to go unnoticed because attention may bring up things you're too exhausted to deal with. So, maybe it really is for the best that He doesn't care... or so that seems to be the case.

But what if you were wrong? What if He actually did care? What if He noticed you and was completely aware of your every breath? What if His heart broke at the thought of you thinking that He didn't care about you? What if He cared so much about you that even in the pain, the disappointment, the frustration, and the regret, He still called you to Himself? And what if He still cared for you despite what you said and what you did? What if, really, the lack of caring was actually your own preconceived notion that you projected on Him? Because maybe, you put yourself in His shoes, attempting to know His ways, and you believed that you aren't worthy of His care and attention. What if it was just your own insecurities convincing you a holy, righteous, perfect God could never possibly care in the least for a girl who is so imperfect, flawed, tainted and sinful as you? After all, you're pretty sure if anyone deserves such good care, such attention from the King of Kings, it certainly isn't you.

Well, what if you realized that you were believing lies? What if the truth was that He cares? That His care never stopped or even decreased for that matter? And, because He cared, He pursued you, beckoned you, and accepted you in all of your mess to be His forever. Oh sister, the groom has never, for a moment, taken His eyes off of His bride. Never, for a second, has she gone unnoticed by Him. Even if she felt like it, even if she may have deserved it, He has never let her out of His sight, His care, or His hands, and He never will.

#753 - Because He cares so much about us to pursue, beckon, and accept us in the mess we're in and He never stops caring.

"The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him..." - Nahum 1:7
