A miracle & a starting place
It was a miracle – simple and straight. There’s no other way to explain it.
I realized I was in over my head. Totally lost with no direction. “Lord, I don’t even know what I’m doing here. I need your help, but I don’t know where to start.”
This had been my prayer on repeat for months. Nothing was happening.
But then on a Saturday morning, as I sat in the chair mindlessly watching cartoons with my girl, a miracle occurred.
My phone lit up with a notification.
I glanced down to see the name of a childhood friend displayed on the screen. We hadn’t seen one another in well over a decade but had kept up with each other’s lives on social media.
“This might seem kind of random or weird, but after seeing you post about your writing journey, I felt led to help you… in any way you need… as a gift.”
A miracle of grace.
A starting place.
Staring at my phone in disbelief, I gladly accepted the offer from this friend. This friend who, by the way, is so incredibly talented and gifted in all the ways I’m not and who wants to use her gifts alongside mine to serve the Lord.
And so we met last week. We took pictures, we talked websites, and caught up on a decade of life as if we had hardly skipped a beat.
Listen friends, I have absolutely nothing to offer you. I have no fashion advice, great recipes, home décor suggestions or anything of the sorts. I can’t tell you how to be more confident or in shape or successful in this world. But that’s not why I am here. I’m not here to give you anything but rather to point you to someone.
“John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world”… when the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus… Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.” (John 1:29-42 – paraphrased)
I have found Jesus, and I want to bring you to Him. I want you to taste His goodness. Witness the miracles and wonders of the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of God. I want join hands and go on an adventure together as we follow Jesus up the mountains, through the valleys, and closer to the heart of God.
